Aside from its combination of action and comedy, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is also highly anticipated for its music. What made it more exciting is the fact that director James Gunn will once again select the songs for the Awesome mix tape and composer Tyler Bates will return to create the musical score. Fans are also anticipating if Nebula will make her comeback as a new guardian.
Collider reported that the more emotional sequel will focus on Star Lord's relationship with his father, which might be further intensified with a wicked musical score and soundtrack. Bates was known for his scoring of "John Wick," "Slither" (also with Gunn), and "The Sacrament."
However, Gunn has a knack of veering away from the original comic book origins of the characters. He even confirmed that Star Lord's father not be like the one in the comics. A fan asked Gunn if fans will get to see Rocket's background in the future, and if there will be new Guardians joining the team. The director answered both, saying, "Yes and yes."
In the comic book, Rocket Racoon came from a solitary planet inhabited by abandoned robots from a medical complex. But because of the movie's flexibility with the back story of its characters, it is uncertain what would be the racoon's past.
Regarding the new members, the producers have not revealed further spoilers on the specific characters. Rumors are saying that characters from the previous movie might join the team.
Movie Pilot reported that Nebula , the past villain who held a grudge against Thanos might help to defeat the Titan. Cosmo the Astro Dog, who was an intelligent canine from Russia in the comics, and Yondu might also appear and help.
The movie recently won Best Dramatic Presentation in the Long Form category in the 2015 Hugo Awards, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will find out what composer Tyler Bates has in store and what Nebula's role will be in the premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 on May 5, 2017.
