One Direction is being plagued again with split rumors following the release of their single "Drag Me Down." The band is at the peak of their popularity and is striving to maintain it even at the time Zayn Malik left One Direction.
On Monday, 1D member Niall Horan created buzz in the social media after posting a surprising post admitting that the group is planning to take a break and not disbanding.
"Ok so Lots of rumours going round. We are not splitting up, but we will be taking a well earned break at some point next year," Horan, 21, wrote on August 24 on his Twitter with 23 million followers.
The same day, the 21-year-old crooner followed it up with reassurance that One Direction is not quitting and they still have a lot of music for their fans.
"Don't worry though, we still have lots we want to achieve ! Can't wait for you to hear all the new music we have for you and to perform."
One Direction's split rumors were made more controversial after the band's co-producer and co-writer for the hits "Story of My Life" and " Steal My Girl" Julian Bunetta told Billboard that the band recorded their forthcoming fifth album with the thing that there's no real plan after. It could be their last, she claims.
Bunetta claims 1D is taking a break and there's no certainty while the group is on break. The co-producer told the music magazine that there's no assurance for the first time. It's a rare happening since the group was formed when they were only 16.
"There was definitely a vibe of making [the album] the best it can possibly be, and knowing it has to last as long as it needs to until we make another record-if we make another record."
Back in March, in an interview with Tops of the Tops magazine via Sugar Scape, Liam Payne answered the disbanding rumors. The singer also addressed what's in store for the 1D group.
We love what we're doing right now," Payne told the magazine.
" "We have no intention of changing that, and want to release an album every year - year after year."
On Direction is composed of Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan after Malik left in march. The group has released four albums, which are "Up All Night" in 2011, "Take Me Home" in 2012 and "Midnight Memories" in 2013, and"Four" in 2014.
