'The Affair' season 2 is going to explore the aftermath of Noah and Alison's wrong doings. Thus, it is expected that Cole and Helen will find ways to get even for their partners' unfaithfulness. It was also learned that the spouses' perspectives will be added to either get things clear or more complicated.
Showtime's drama series 'The Affair' is going to have its second season on October 4. With the recently released trailers, 2 new perspectives are included in the upcoming season. The 2 new POVs are from the wronged spouses of Noah and Alison, Cole and Helen.
According to Christian Post, the additional perspective will add more complexity of 'The Affair' story. The series follows the extramarital affair between Noah Solloway, a schoolteacher and writer and Alison Bailey, a young waitress, set in the resort town of Montauk in Long Island.
In a report by Entertainment Weekly, creator Sarah Treem revealed that "for the most part, it's still going to be two perspectives [per episode]. The question is, whose two perspectives."
"We show from different POVs, different parts of their lives and then we'll move to another and it will be three months later and you'll be left to fill in the gaps," she added.
But actor Joshua Jackson revealed that with Cole and Helen's perspectives, "It allows me to show him in a way that being Noah's recollection or Alison's recollection just doesn't." Jackson added, "It's opened up for me an entirely different world for this character."
AVClub reported that 'The Affair' season 2 storytelling isn't meant to provide clarification or to identify whose version/s is telling the truth or not. It was also speculated that this will be done with a lot of flashbacks and time-jumping.
