It has been more than a month now since "Wayward Pines" Season 1 ended but FOX has not yet announced whether or not there is a second season for the show. Reports have surfaced recently claiming that talks for season 2 is in its early stages but no confirmation about this yet has been announced.
In the season 1 finale of "Wayward Pines," Ethan, played by Matt Dillon, got killed off as he sacrificed himself in order to save the rest of the people in the town from the Abbies. However, his son Ben, played by Charlie Tahan, was able to survive the attack and he woke up three years after it happened. Fans are expecting that the cliffhangers from season 1 meant that there will be a season 2, Christian Today reported.
M. Night Shyamalan, the creator of the show, has not offered any information as to the possibility of the show having a second season. The pilot season of the show had ten episodes and fans are expecting that Ben will be continuing the work that his father has started.
Last July, it was reported that the show was already canceled by FOX and that it will stand as a miniseries instead of renewing it for a second season. Meanwhile, on the same month, it was reported that the show will have a second season provided that the characters will be different from those who are in season 1. However, there was no confirmation about the truth in these reports yet.
Meanwhile, Cross Map reported that executive producer Chad Hodge noted that there is no season 2 as the season 1 finale was made that way. He noted that fans should not expect a season 2 for "Wayward Pines.
Shyamalan said the same thing as he is set to make a project with Joaquin Phoenix and Realty Today shared that he is more focused on this project rather than "Wayward Pines."
