'Crimson Peak' has a main villain in the form of the Sharpe Siblings' Mother Ghost. Actress Jessica Chastain admits to her love for co-star Charlie Hunnam.
'Crimson Peak' may have a bigger villain than the incestuous Sharpe Siblings, Tom Hiddleston's Sir Thomas Sharpe and Jessica Chastain's Lady Lucille Sharpe. In an article by Dread Central, the Funko toy company may have dropped a huge clue that a character called Mother Ghost is the big bad antagonist in the film. The company's press release specifically stated a line that read, "The story takes place in a weathered mansion fit for Mother Ghost."
The Pop! Vinyl toys to be released on September include Thomas Sharpe, Mia Wasikowska's Edith Cushing and a mysterious figure called Mother Ghost - making it obvious that she is a main character in director Guillermo del Toro's upcoming gothic romance film. According to FashionNStyle.com, Mother Ghost could be the deceased mother of the Sharpe siblings or possibly a distant ancestor haunting the halls of their sinister mansion.
The film is set in the 19th century in rural Northern England and follows the horrifying new life of a young author Edith after she marries Thomas and they move in with his sister Lucille. It contains elements of incest, terror, romance, and the supernatural. Del Toro specifically called his project a "gothic romance" and not a horror film - stressing the beauty of devastated love.
Chastain recently admitted in an interview that she loved her co-star Charlie Hunnam In an article by E! Online, the Oscar-nominee admitted that when she first learned Hunnam would be joining the cast, she may fall for him on set. However she expressed, "I did not fall in love with Charlie, press out! I do love him, but I'm not in love with him."
The two actors have gotten close with Chastain admitting that the 'Sons of Anarchy' heartthrob is "absolutely gorgeous" and "just this normal down-to-earth guy". Chastain will be portraying Lucille, an evil woman with a shockingly close relationship with her brother while Hunnam will be playing Dr. Alan McMichael, a stoic yet thoughtful man who is madly in love with Edith and warn her of her new husband.
'Crimson Peak' is set for release on October 16, 2015 by Legendary Pictures in co-production with Universal Pictures. It is directed, co-written and co-produced by the multi-awarded Guillermo del Toro known for his fantasy and gothic films including 'Pan's Labyrinth', 'Hellboy', 'Pacific Rim' and 'The Hobbit' series.
