Dark Souls 3 Gameplay Video Shows Unforgiving Challenges Anew

By

Dark Souls 3 developer, FromSoftware, was said to have brought not just one, but several gameplay videos at PAX Prime in Seattle, WA. Will this installment be anymore different, or say, less strict and forgiving to players? Or, players will experience death twice as much than Dark Souls 2?

According to WCCF Tech, Dark Souls 3 is as violent as the previous titles, with the usual death destruction and strangely impenetrable bosses. The 13-minute gameplay video displayed, quite grievously on the player's part, many death experiences and demonstrated diverse ways on how the AI can approach and kill a gamer. The report also mentioned how the framerate ticked below due to complicated scenes. Actions don't seem to respond at once when desired. But this might be understandable, as this is not the final output yet.

Dark Souls had been shied away from in recent years because of its grueling difficulty and unforgiving challenges. Twinfinite described it as an "odd beast in the gaming community." The game had been both praised and criticized in these aspects. Although it offered resplendent imagery and brilliant concept, the game had been un-relentless, however, on its players. But the developer might have been a little lenient now in Dark Souls 3 and had a lesson or two from its previous titles.

Combats in Dark Souls 3 have more fluidity, which is more natural in character, which other Dark Souls lack of. Rolling proved to be favorable, as it dispenses a player to get out of danger; as well as get back on track when in combat.

Dark Souls 3 still bears the original flare. But it clearly had some influences as well from other games. According to Geek Snack, Hidetaka Miyazaki, the game's director, had revealed that Dark Souls 3 will be clearly influenced by Bloodborne and its gameplay design by Dark Souls 2. Incidentally, Bloodborne is under FromSoftware as well.

Dark Souls 3 might be more encouraging than its predecessors. And, taking in to reasonable cues from players might prove to be beneficial in the end. But judgment day is still too far off for Dark Souls 3, as the game is scheduled to be released in early 2016.
