Now, it can be told. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will be released on March 18, 2016 for Playstation 4. After much speculation and anticipation, Naughty Dog had finally come up with a release date for the game, earlier than what everyone, even the developer, had expected. Other exciting stuff are being promoted by Sony for this Uncharted installment.
According to MStars News, a blog post from the game directors way back in early 2015 somehow pronounced that Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will indeed be released in Spring next year. And when a recent tweet from Neil Druckmann said that mocap for Sully and Elena had been completed, it was hinted that the development for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End was running smoothly, and that a release date for Spring 2016 may very well be correct.
Naughty Dog might as well just be waiting for all the good marketing stuff that Sony had been cooking along, before it announces its official release. According to the International Business Times, Sony had announced on its Playstation blog that the game is coming out with two special editions: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Special Edition which costs $79.99 and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Libertaria Collector's Edition priced at $199.99.
Both editions have the Blu-ray disc of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, a collectible steelbook case, 48-page hardcover art book by Dark Horse, and Naughty Dog and Pirate Sigil Sticker Sheet.
But the plus of the Libertalia Edition is the 12" premium Nathan Drake statue, two exclusive and five additional instant multiplayer unlocks, and Naughty Dogs Points that can be used in the game's multiplayer mode. On the other hand, The Special Edition has in-game currency to unlock various multiplayer content.
There will also be two digital versions - the Digital Standard Edition from Playstation Store and the Digital Deluxe Edition. Digital Standard Edition pre-orders will get players a digital downloadable version of Unchartered 4: A Thief's End, two multiplayer outfits - Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Heist Drake, two custom weapon skins - Golden Weapon and Snow Weapon, and Phurba Dagger Taunt and Naughty Dog Points.
The Digital Deluxe Edition will have the same contents as that of in the Digital Standard Edition, but will have other inclusions. These consist of Desert multiplayer outfit, Desert Weapon skin, Thomas Tew and Adam Baldridge plus the Uncharted 4 Triple pack. Game Informer described the upcoming content of this pack as something similar to what many companies have called a season pass. Players will get future access to a single-player story add-on and two advanced multiplayer packs that can unlock rare and legendary items. This edition also includes two instant unlockable multiplayer customization items.
Players and fans of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End may now forgive its developers on the game's overdue release. Naughty Dog, and of course Sony, might as well be just preparing its audience for some sweet concoctions. All these sure are tempting alright, still, it would cost players some money on their end. But for its loyal patrons, these offers are just a feast to behold.
