'Partisan' movie: Vincent Cassel stars in 'all-out chilling' thriller

Sundance award-winning movie "Partisan" starring Vincent Cassel will make its debut in the US this October. And for those who are into bone-chilling thrillers, this film is something to get excited about.

Ariel Kleiman's "Partisan" is set on a crumbling city, wherein a man named Gregori, played by Cassel, is the charismatic leader of a small group of children and their mothers, according to wearemoviegeeks.com. There, he teaches the children how to farm vegetables, raise livestock, work and abide by the community, and how to kill.

In the community, an 11-year-old boy named Alexander, played by newcomer Jeremy Chabriel, begins to question the leadership of Gregori, and in doing so, sparking a chaotic revolt on how he manages their way of living.

As Indiewire called it, the movie gradually echoes the style and tone of "Lord of the Flies."

"Partisan" was acclaimed by the website as "a film which expects something of the viewer--indeed it is unusual to encounter a story, let alone a feature debut, that withholds so much--but one that trusts its audience to find its way, led by an elegant breadcrumb trail of clues, to its heart of darkness."

Moreover, the 48-year-old lead actor was lauded for his acting as both "charmingly sentimental" and "viciously choleric."

The movie was also compared by critics to other dark works such as "History of Fear" and "Parabellum." However, it is said to stand out on its own because "it is slow and it is ambiguous but it is supremely sure of itself, as it moves, with singleminded grace from chilly to all-out chilling."

In other news, Cassel will also appear in the mainstream light once again as he will star as prominent villain in the next Jason Bourne movie, reported The Guardian.

To be released by Well Go USA Entertainment, the movie "Partisan" starring Vincent Cassel and Jeremy Chabriel will premiere in select theaters on October 2, 2015.
