The upcoming reboot of the famous 90's sensation "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" is still being kept in the dark until its premiere on 2017. However, good news to its fans as a new executive producer has signed on board.
Roberto Orci is going to be the executive producer working on the story of the "Power Rangers" project along with Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller on the script, reported Variety.
With Orci's scribe experience in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," "Star Trek," "Star Trek: Into Darkness," "Transformers" and "Mission: Impossible III," and Stentz and Miller's credentials on "Thor" and "X-Men: First Class," it is certain that the upcoming reboot will promise a whole ton of action.
Director Dean Israelite, who signed up to take helm of the upcoming reboot, teased in an interview that the script is both mature and playful.
"I read the script and was really surprised by it and thought there was a really cool, contemporary, mature but still playful, buoyant, and fun take on the material, and was updated in a really interesting way," he said. "It had this wonderful character that's essential to going on a fantastic adventure. I was instantly drawn to it."
According to Heroic Hollywood, the story is set to begin in on Earth during the cretaceous period, approximately 65 years ago. There, Zordon and his group of Power Rangers fought off Rita Repulsa and traps her in a black hole.
In the present, the new heroes are named Jason (Red Ranger), Kimberly (Pink Ranger), Zack (Black Ranger, Trini (Yellow Ranger), and Billy (Blue Ranger).
The cast members, like this rumored plot from Heroic Hollywood, have yet to be confirmed.
Fans will just have to wait and see what is the real story and tone of the "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" reboot as it premieres on January 13, 2017.
