Corsair Bulldog 4K Living Room PC Revealed at PAX Prime

By

Corsair unleashed the production version of its Bulldog DIY 4K living room gaming PC at the PAX Prime over the weekend. It seems that Corsair's Bulldog will be the frontrunner among machines that will be out in the market for the sole purpose of running PC games.

Last June, Corsair revealed a Bulldog prototype-a gaming platform that brings the performance of a full-size desktop gaming PC, that will showcase the immersion of 4K gaming designed for a living room, as stated in Corsair's official website. The Bulldog has a DIY kit with liquid cooling, a stylish, highly-vented, console-sized chassis, an Intel Z170 motherboard, and a super-efficient SFX power supply. This power supply apparently powers up CPUs and GPUs with 600 watts of 80 Plus Gold level efficiency in an industry-standard SFX form factor.

This gaming platform provides a lot of space for upgrades and customization options such as, the option to use Corsair's Bulldog-ready graphics card or the Corsair adapter, for a more personalized gameplay experience.

Corsair's Bulldog is enclosed in an all-black, console chassis. According to Corsair's product manager, David Sklavos, Corsair Bulldog was designed with feet below it, to make it stable wherever the player moves and places it swithin the confines of the living room, noted iSchool Guide.

As for Andy Paul, CEO of Corsair Components, Hardware Heaven quoted him saying, "Bulldog is designed to take the 4K gaming experience delivered by desktop gaming PCs, and bring it to the big 4K screens in the home." Paul adds, "We knew we needed to deliver a solution that was elegant, powerful, and compact." The CEO also stated that they have finally met their goal when they have taken advantage of their expertise in liquid cooling and PC case design.

Because of the arrival of the new AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards, together with a higher accessibility to more affordable 4K TVs, PCs are now expected to deliver the complete gaming experience in 4K, which is way better than the 1080P limitation of most Steam machines and present game consoles.

Bulldog was built for future-proof upgradeability with PC gaming fans in mind, so that the users can be at pace as the hardware and games evolve. Since Bulldog brings the foundation of a full PC, the users also have the option of choosing between Linux, SteamOS, or Windows OS to fit their needs.

Corsair's Bulldog will be available by the end of 2015. Check out Corsair's official website to get the latest updates on this gaming platform.
