'Avengers: Infinity War - Part 1' actor Chris Evans would like to extend his acting contract with Marvel since his term as one of Earth's mightiest heroes will end on part 2. He also revealed his hesitation to play Captain America in the beginning.
According to Screen Rant, Evans expressed his desire to extend his six-film contract with Marvel and would be readily available to sign a new one should the studio need him back. He added that working with their cast and crew is akin to a playground for actors and one will always be in a great movie.
The 34-year old actor also confirmed that his long-standing deal with Marvel will finally come to an end on the latest two-part installation of the superhero team-up film. It was reported that Evans was previously offered a nine-film contract but it was cut down possibly due to his reluctance.
In an interview with Collider, he admitted that he was in doubts to play Steve Rogers a.k.a. Captain America initially. He said, "It's so mind-boggling that I was so tentative in the beginning to jump onboard. What an a**hole I would be if I hadn't done this. I mean can you imagine? Kicking myself-I'd never forgive myself!" His character is considered as the First Avenger in the Marvel comic books and Evans first brought him to life on big-screen with the 2011 film 'Captain America: The First Avenger'.
Evans' Captain America is only one of the main superheroes included in the upcoming film directed by the Russo brothers. Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man is speculated to return as Chris Hemsworth's Thor, according to IMDB. It was also reported that since 'Avengers: Infinity War - Part 1' is part of the MCU's Phase Three, several new characters may be joining them.
'Avengers: Infinity War Part 1' 'is an upcoming superhero film directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and produced by Marvel president Kevin Feige. The first part will be the sixth film in MCU's Phase Three and is scheduled to hit theaters on May 4, 2018. The latest 'Avengers' film was released last May 1, 2015.
