Just a week ago, Konami have released Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Windows PC. And while the game wowed players with its multi-player mode, big world setting and awesome graphics, the players were disheartened when they already encountered connectivity issues.
Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain players will be pleased with the game's big world setting along with the ability to kidnap puppies and almost anyone through its Fulton system. Aside from the massive game world, Gamezone notes that Phantom Pain comes with a multiplayer mode that is similar to playing Clash of Clans, but in Metal Gear style. It allows the players to invade, sabotage, and steal others' Mother Bases.
The game might be overwhelming at first as there are different systems at play in it. Once the gamer gets the hang of playing it, everything will just go smoothly from there. Phantom Pain has a smooth framerate and awesome graphics. Fans of the series might find the game's open-ended nature as somewhat strange, but this is actually a good sign of its evolution.
However, shortly after the game's release on Tuesday, Konami encountered connectivity problems with Phantom Pain. The players apparently had trouble having access to Phantom Pain's multiplayer FOB mode, reported Game Spot. Konami has performed some technical maintenance after taking the game's servers offline. They also came up with an alert page on their official website to keep the gamers updated with the servers' status.
Meanwhile, one of the features in Phantom Pain allowed players to transfer their saved data from Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes. By doing such, players can have different perks. But because of the servers' frequent timed out, the gamers were unable to transfer their saved data. Due to this incident, Konami apologized for the downtime that was experienced by the players of Phantom Pain.
In other news, a week after its release, Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain seems to be a hit in UK. In the Gfk Chart Track shared by Metal Gear Informer, Phantom Pain lands on the top spot of UK's top 40 entertainment software. It returns to the top of the All Formats chart for the first time since 2008.
Despite the connectivity issues encountered, gamers are still excited to explore the new world of Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain, which also happens to be Kojima's finale to 30 years of Metal Gear games.
