'Wayward Pines' Season 2 Update: Showrunner M. Night Shyamalan Working On New Project 'The Visit', Will New Episodes Still Push Through?

"Wayward Pines" Season 1 ended six weeks ago but still there has been no report if there will be a season 2. Fans are speculating there might be no upcoming episodes as show's creator M. Night Shyamalan was interviewed recently and he has been busy with his new flick entitled "The Visit."

In a recent interview, Shyamalan was asked if he sees a season 2 for "Wayward Pines" and consider focusing on television rather than making movies. The director and showrunner shared, "TV is a good way to show character driven story arcs which I love and had a great time during Wayward Pines. I have trouble with TV when I think there are stories without an end, I have a problem with TV all too often because of this."

He added that fans could see another season of "Wayward Pines" but he is working on "The Visit." He laughed and continued to say that if there was indeed a season 2, he should already be working on it, The Young Folks reported.

In a separate interview with Freep, the director talked about shooting "Wayward Pines." He said, "On "Wayward Pines," when we shot it, we didn't have time, so we didn't have playback. I loved it. It made me sit with the actors right there. I was more muscular. I was game-ready. You had to be razor sharp (and) listen every second and be right there."

It still remains to be unknown if the fans of the show should expect a season 2. It was previously reported by Cross Map that the executive producer and the showrunner of "Wayward Pines" said that the season 1 finale was not a teaser for a season 2. Executive Producer Chad Hodge noted that the miniseries was able to complete the story from their source material so there's no need for fans to hope that there is a second season.

"Wayward Pines" season 2 might no longer be happening as M. Night Shyamalan has been hands-on and busy with the production of his new flick "The Visit." The film is about these two children visiting their grandparents but eerie things happen at their home afterwards. It will be hitting the theaters this month.
