Lenovo, Motorola, and Google are introducing Moto 360 smartwatch in the market place of China soon. Since China is a closed-door country, the Android Wear's manufacturers are trying to replace Google services into Mobvoi and Sogou. These are Chinese local companies that can support almost the same services that Google offer.
The Verge mentioned that Google will decouple Google Play and Google Now to be able to sell Moto 360 smartwatch in China. The Android Wear will be powered by Mobvoi and Sogou to provide almost the same features that Goole Play and Google Now offer. Mobvoi and Sogou are local Chinese companies that can support search, voice recognition, and mapping functionality.
Further, the report said that users will be able to perform voice actions such as calling a taxi and dictate messages. It means that even though Google apps won't be available to the Android Wear, Google, Lenovo, and Motorola will make sure that users will still be able to maximize the available features.
Since Moto 360 smartwatch will be introduced in China, it is expected that the language will be in Chinese. David Singleton stated in the related report that instead of saying "Ok Google," users would rather say "Ni hao Android," which means hello Android. According to the engineering director of Android, decoupling Google's services gives him and the team a lot of work to do for the success of the launch in China.
On the other hand, Tech 2 noted that there are no more details regarding the release of Moto 360 in China. Nevertheless, recent report quoted what Google CEO Sundar Pichai said, "We are going to continue providing Android to the fullest extent possible in China, so we are incredibly excited." This strategy of conquering such closed-door country is a great move from Google's business expansion.
As of the moment, there are no further information regarding the specs, features, and services of Moto 360. There is also no detail on the exact date of release in China.
