After three years of work, Apple finally released its new TV product on September 9. The new product provides the most enhanced and upgraded features and specs of Apple TV. According to published reports, the new TV includes a remote and interface.
The Verge experienced how the new Apple TV works. As it was reported, the TV's remote can be controlled like HDMI CEC and it is consisted of the usual commands such as menu, home, volume, Siri, and motion sensing capabilities. The remote's battery can lasts up to three months. The report also said that the remote fastly responds to commands.
In the related report, it cited the new TV's interface. This time, the interface is cleaner and whiter than the old model. Craig Federighi said in The Verge that tvOS is 95 percent the same as iOS with innovations to support the remote and display on a TV screen. As part of the innovation, the remote can be used up to 10 feet away from the TV.
Unsurprisingly, given that the new TV is an Apple product, it is expected for it to work though Siri. This statement is supported by BBC News wherein it can let users choose what shows or movies they want based on desired themes or actors.
Moreover, the new Apple product can also support more apps like games. Nilay Patel from recent report tried playing Gilt and Zillow apps and he said that it was like displaying giants on the screen. He even played Asphalt 8 and for him, the game ran greatly. On the other hand, the cost of the TV box is roughly $149 to $199 depending on the storage size of 32GB and 64GB.
Indeed, Apple TV series of 2015 has a lot to offer compared to 2012 series in terms of its capabilities. This is another opportunity for Apple to conquer the TV industry through its new product.
