A Disney live-action take to the classic tale of Beauty and the Beast is in the works and Emma Watson says filming has been an unbelievable experience. Walt Disney Studios' President of Production, Sean Bailey also confirmed that new songs will be featured in the film.
The tale as old as time will once again be retold in the big screen in the upcoming film with Emma Watson on board as Belle, or the titular Beauty, Dan Stevens as the Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston, Kevin Kline as Maurice, Josh Gad as Le Fou and many others.
Production is currently in full swing, which is also why Watson was not able to attend the recently held D23 Expo in Anaheim, California. However, as reported by Ecumenical News, the Harry Potter actress did share her experience in playing as Belle describing it as unbelievable and a dream come true.
"We have had an unbelievable time shooting Beauty and the Beast. It has been a complete dream come true. I can't wait for the film to release in 2017", Watson said via video message. Cinemovie.tv's report also cited that a ten-second preview was also released showing Watson as Belle coming down the windy stairs wearing the iconic yellow dress which was described to be in favor to a modern look.
In the event, Sean Bailey confirmed that the film will indeed be a musical with the famous songs from the animated film like Be Our Guest, and Tale As Old As Time are expected to be featured in the film. Entertainment Weekly also reported that two new songs will also be included in the film, that were written by Alan Menken and Tim Rice. Bailey also described the production numbers in the film as "lavish and joyous".
The live-action of the Beauty and the Beast is said to stick close to its animated version and will bear the same story line. It is directed by Bill Condon from the screenplay by Evan Spiliotopoulos and Stephen Chbosky. Look for it in theaters in March 17, 2017.
