‘House of Cards Season 4 Spoilers: How will the new power couple affect Frank and Claire’s political ambition, marriage?

By

The marriage of Frank and Claire Underwood may be on the rocks with Claire's walking out on him in the Season 3 Finale of House of Cards but there are a lot of speculations that the couple may be sticking it out. Knowing that the Underwoods will do whatever it takes to stay in power, it is possible they will pretend to still be together to show a united front. They will definitely be needing this as a new power couple is said to be going against the First Couple in the coming season.

An Enstarz article reveals some spoilers on what's in store for Frank, Claire and the rest of the gang. The latest that has come out is the addition of Neve Campbell to the cast as a series regular. No details about her character have been made known although there are hints that she could be Frank's political rival in the new season.

This may have a connection to another spoiler revealed by Ecumenical News of the possibility the show will introduce a new power couple that will rival the Underwoods. They are said to be younger and probably British. Neve's character could be one-half of the pair with Colm Feore, who was also recently signed on as series regular, playing the other half.

Their entry could pave the way for Frank and Claire's getting back together if they really do go on to separate in the coming season. After all, they are known to be at their best when fighting a common enemy.

The biggest cliffhanger of last season's finale was that of Claire telling Frank that she was leaving him. The impact of this will definitely be felt in the new season. "A lot of the strength of the show is based on the strength of that marriage. But as soon as we began to explore that, we realized there was no turning back," creator Beau Willimon revealed to Christian Today. "We also realized we'd laid the groundwork in the previous two seasons for this conflict between Francis and Claire, and the more we began exploring it, the more inevitable it became. And the more exciting it was for us to travel that emotional terrain."

Last season's finale also ended with Doug Stamper finally making his way back to President Frank Underwood's graces in the White House. Willimon has hinted that he may be willing to do Frank's dirty work for him to secure his position. It is unsure though for how many episodes he will be seen in Season 4 as there are stories going around that he will be killed.

No exact date has been given on the House of Cards Season 4 premiere yet but Netflix announced on Twitter that it will be in 2016.
