HTC One A9 Confirmed to Have MediaTek MT6797 Chipset with Deca-Core CPU, 4GB of RAM; Rumored to Debut on September 29

All HTC fans can now rejoice as the upcoming HTC One A9 smartphone is confirmed to have MediaTek 20nm MT6797 chipset that comes with a deca-core CPU and a 4GB of RAM. The Taiwanese multinational manufacturer of smartphones and tablets has set to unveil this high-end handset in the coming weeks.

According to GizmoChina, HTC One A9 is scheduled to be released on September 29 at the "The World Best Meets The Best" event in Japan. One of its highlights is the new deca-core Helio X20 MT6797 processor, which complements the new Mali-T880MP6 series graphics chip. This powerful chip includes a Tri-Cluster design with dual 2.5GHz Cortex-A72 cores for heavy lifting, four 2GHz Cortex-A53 cores for medium housework, and four 1.4GHz Cortex-A53 cores for light housekeeping. The MT6797 is said to use 30% less energy than other high-end chipsets, making it power-efficient.

HTC One A9, which is also known as the HTC Aero, has run through the Geekbench benchmark test. It scored an impressive 1835 in the single core test. While on the multi-core part of the test, MT6797 put up a mind-blowing score of 5884 points, which managed to beat everyone, including the Exynos 7420 which only scored 5375. It will also be the first smartphone from HTC to carry 4GB of RAM.

With this remarkable success of MediaTek's MT6797 chipset, it just clearly shows that the company has created a powerhouse of flagships. The dual A72 and octa A53 cores ensure that each user gets the maximum performance of the handset without sacrificing on battery life.

In addition, HTC One A9 is rumored to boast a 2560 by 1440 pixels Quad HD display or 1080 pixels full HD display and an Android 5.1 operating system. It is also expected to be available in major carriers in the United States and will be priced at around $500 to $600.
