'Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain' Faces Problems; Konami Fixes Save Data Bug, Server Issues

By

With much anticipation about the "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" before and when it was launched; the game is seemingly experiencing a huge descent as problems are now folding in. Players took to gaming forums and communities with regard to their complaints about the game. From PC errors, saving bugs, server issues, among others; the hype is about to change for Konami and its supposed Best Game of the Year.

Server issues were first complained about since day one of the "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain"'s release. Players who are consoles and PC were not able to log in to access the game's online functions. It was either completely locked out or had limited functionality, according to IGN. But the problem was addressed quickly by Konami. The developer immediately upgraded its servers to handle the massive load eversince the game was released on September 1. Players had resumed access to Forward Operating Bases - building and invading other FOBs.

Another problem that was raised up among gamers was a game-breaking bug that was said to be present in all versions of "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain," mentioned in Pure Xbox report. Those who had Quiet while finishing missions 29 or 42 would be hit by the said bug, and would stop the game in the process and eventually would corrupt saved files as well.

Konami only issued an apology at that time and had not confirmed any patch coming to fix the bug as well. Gamers had to evade those two missions to prevent meeting up with the bug, while figuring out how to decipher ways on how retrieve saved files.

A new set of update was released for the "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" on the PS4, reported on Gear Nuke on September 13. As expected, the update brings in fixes on the Quiet save data corruption bug that beset many users during the game's launch. The new update takes up 435.8MB of the gamer's hard disk on the PS4; but will eventually repair the said bug when using Quiet in the game. Konami assured that the update will be available across platforms in no time, such as PC, PS3, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

"Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" is considered to be Hideo Kojima's last project for the franchise. Kojima might have placed wholly the "Metal Gear Solid" franchise to where it is right now - being one of the most sought-after stealth games in the market. It was even being bet by Konami as the Best Game of the Year. But with these bug and server issues, although it may prove to be a nuisance, it may also prove how interested and baffled the players are at the same time about the game.
