'I Saw The Light' is an upcoming biopic starring 'Avengers' co-stars Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen. Hiddleston will portray the iconic country/Western musician Hank Williams and Olsen will play his wife and manager Audrey. Olsen denied dating rumors between her and Hiddleston.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the biography drama starring Olsen and Hiddleston premiered at the recent Toronto International Festival last September 11, 2015 as part of its Special Presentations section. The film is based on the book 'Hank Williams: The Biography' by Colin Escott, George Merritt, and William MacEwen. It follows the titular musician's rise to fame and sudden demise at a young age of 29.
Williams was a famed country/Western singer-songwriter and considered as one of the most influential American musicians of the 20th century. He is credited for his work on the 1984 hit 'Move It Over', popular cover 'Lovesick Blues' as well as originals 'Hey, Good Lookin', 'Your Cheatin' Heart' and 'I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry'. His legendary career was cut short after he succumbed to health complications from years of drug and alcohol abuse.
Hiddleston plays Hank Williams and Olsen plays his on-screen wife and manager Audrey Sheppard Williams. In an article by MTV news, Olsen expressed her excitement working alongside her 'Avengers' co-actor saying that they have been wanting to work together on 'I Saw The Light' for quite a while. She admitted that they have a natural chemistry as have known each other for years.
The two have been previously rumored to be dating off-screen but Olsen stressed that they are not a couple. During an interview with Refinery 29, the younger Olsen sister reiterated that she and Hiddleston are friends and not a Hollywood item.
She said, "I mean, we definitely are friends and we've known each other for about four years. And we happened to be at a restaurant at a wrong time having dinner. We all go out to dinner... apparently, I'm dating Chris Evans, and apparently, I've dated Jeremy Renner, so I guess that... I don't react to it."
'I Saw The Light' is an upcoming drama film directed, written and produced by Marc Abraham. It is scheduled to be released in the United States on November 27, 2015.
