'Captain America: Civil War' actress Elizabeth Olsen teases her character Scarlet Witch's important role in the sequel. She revealed that Scarlet Witch will be a wild card in the next superhero team-up. Her character's evolved superpowers may make her the most powerful Avenger.
According to Den of Geek, Olsen will return to the big-screens to reprise her role as Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). She will join fellow actors in the massive superhero team-up that includes Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Rudd and Paul Bettany. Her character will be picking up the pieces after the events of the previous 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' film.
It was reported by Comic Book Movie that she will be siding with Evans' Captain America in the latter's showdown against ex-comrade Iron Man, played by Downey Jr., in 'Captain America: Civil War'. This rumor was fueled by leaked trailer screenshots.
Olsen revealed her character's situation in the upcoming film saying, "She's confused, she's conflicted. She's found some people she thinks she connects with, but she's doing alright. They released images of Team Cap and Team Iron Man. She wasn't there. She's always the wild card. I like being the wild card."
Another article by Screen Rant hinted that Scarlet Witch's evolved and enhanced superpowers may possibly make her one of the strongest Avengers from the bunch. It was reported that she may have the ability to "rewrite history" should the film adaptation follow the story arcs from the Marvel comic books. It was also suggested that the character will have a greater role to play in Phase Three of the MCU.
'Captain America: Civil War' is an upcoming action-fantasy film directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. It follows the huge rift between Avengers leaders Captain America and Iron Man after the team gets divided because of contrasting beliefs regarding a new superhero system of accountability imposed by the government. The film will be the first installment ushering in MCU's Phase Three.
