Rumors surface that the next-generation Macbook Air 2016 will be one of Apple's most affordable laptops with gaming capability and Force Touch. The 2016 Macbook Air boasts revamped hardware and the latest NVIDIA video card to support hours of gaming.
Latinos Post reported that the Macbook Air 2016 can be used as a gaming device. Its most notable feature is said to be the new NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 video graphics card with Gamestream Coop functionality. This feature makes the Mac act like a server where gamers can load games online and allow other players to play them. The video card packs in 2GB of RAM at $159.
According to Chinatopix, the Macbook Air 2016 will come equipped with Force Touch and Retina Display which will come in handy when playing games. It will also have Touch ID to enable Apple Pay functionality, at the same time compensating for the lack of space in the laptop.
Other rumored features include a Type-C USB port and wireless charging support. The Macbook Air 2016 will purportedly run on the latest El Capitan OS X and Intel Skylake-U chipset. Compared to previous Macs, it will presumably have an upgraded battery life.
Apple laptops bring with them a sense of luxury and exclusiveness, making them in-demand in the laptop market. In comparison with other laptop brands, Apple Macs are definitely more expensive especially the Macbook Air. However, The Christian Post reported that the Macbook Air will be more budget friendly come 2016 at an estimated price of $899.
Apple fans fear that the quality of specifications and features of the Macbook Air 2016 will be sacrificed to cut down on cost. However, this does not seem to be the case given the rumored specs mentioned earlier. It is said that the Macbook Air 2016 will be released in 13-inch and 15-inch variants.
The Macbook Air 2016 is estimated to be sold at $899 but there is no definite release date yet. However, the price drop of existing Macs may signal the upcoming release of the new Macbook Air laptop next year.
