'The Sims 4' Celebrates 1st Year: Infographics Reveal 93M Created Sims, More; 'Get Together' DLC Launches in November

"The Sims 4" had just turned 1; and Electronic Arts presented an infographic to celebrate its first anniversary and to show Simmers the extent of their activities. The game came out last year in the US on September 2 and in the UK on September 4.

The infographics produced by EA for "The Sims 4"'s first anniversary, is pretty much the figures expected, according to PC Gamer. There are 93 million Sims created during that year and about 27,900 years or the total time spent playing the game. Other data seemed interesting: Out of the 27.5 million Sim marriages which happened this year, only 1.7 million, or roughly 6%, ended in divorce. This is much low compared to the real statistics of divorce in the US and the UK. And of course, there's quite a lot of sex, too - Sims have WooHooed 235 million times; but experienced little death - about 5 million or 5% out of the total Sims created.

Maxis, "The Sims 4" developer, thanked their fans for playing in a post on the "Sims" website, as mentioned in an International Business Times report. The developer added that the team has "so much great stuff planned" for the game, including a new expansion called "The Sims 4: Get Together". As to the infographics, the stats seemed to be amusing, but more importantly, it only showed just how much EA tracks the move of players. Most of "The Sims 4" players come from the United States, United Kingdom, and Germany. The total Sims created in a year alone (93 million) is equivalent to the combined populations of Spain, Canada, and Sweden.

According to the Christian Post, "The Sims 4" expansion called "Get Together" aims to elevate the way Sims interact with their in-game friends. Another game feature is the formation of clubs, wherein Sims can join in a variety of Clubs, each with their own interests, personalities, and styles.

The new world that will be presented in this "Get Together" expansion is called Windenburg, to some extent based on a few European cities in its style and presentation. A lot of activities can be explored around this new environment, which includes partying, building houses, playing foosball, and swimming in rivers. "The Sims 4" DLC also boasts of two new skill sets - Dancing and Djing skills.

"The Sims 4" recently received a 70 metascore rating out of 74 in the aggregator site Metacritic, which indicates mixed or average reception. It placed fifth in the Most Discussed PC Game for 2014. Although the life simulation game had been eluded because of its mature content, "The Sims 4" is the first PC game to top all-format charts in two years.
