The affordable Samsung Galaxy J2 sports Ultra Data Saving Mode, 4G LTE, Android 5.1 Lollipop and other impressive specs

The most affordable Samsung Galaxy J2 handset has been officially announced by the Korean tech giant. This handset that has an ultra data saving mode will serve as the successor of the well-received Samsung Galaxy J.

The International Business Times reports that the latest Samsung Galaxy J2 features a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display filled with qHD (540 x 960 pixels) screen resolution. It is also being powered by Samsung's own Exynos 3475 chip, in combination with a quad-core processor, clocked at 1.3 GHz while being backed by 1 GB of RAM. The handset runs on the Android 5.1 Lollipop Operating System.

Furthermore, the affordable Galaxy J2 was said built from a metal frame and faux leather back. The handset will be available in black, white and gold color options. The new data saving mode that is packed in the Samsung Galaxy J2 will use Opera's Max technology to separately block apps from consuming files in the background along with the compression engine that delivers data savings of up to 50 percent in video apps, and 40 percent in the social networking apps, reports Android Central.

As for the Photography department, the site also says that the new Galaxy J2 appears to sport an uncertain 5-megapixel rear-facing sensor and a 2-megapixel front-facing snapper to cater the selfie lovers. A 2000 mAh battery was also stated equipped with the device as a source of its power.This is also a dual-SIM smartphone that includes a 4G LTE feature aside from the standard connectivity options.

Although the Galaxy J2 is not as feature-rich like the Redmi 2 Prime, that comes at ₹6,999, it is still considered as a much better deal when it comes to specs from having an LTE and Android 5.1. at a cheaper price.

Quoting an official statement from Manu Sharma (Samsung India director mobile business) as reported by first Post, "The Galaxy J2 is an affordable 4G handset which has, for the first time, an ultra data saving mode. This is the first handset from Samsung with the new data saving facility developed in India."

The latest and pocket-friendly Samsung Galaxy J2 that runs on Android 5.1 with a 4G LTE feature is holding a price tag of Rs 8,490.
