Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain Xbox One Frame Rate Drops; New Glitch Allows Gamers to Put a Suppressor on Rocket Launcher

By

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain has received a patch fixing a number of major issues for PS4 and PC/Steam versions but the Xbox One consoles were left out and gamers have continued experiencing frame rate drops. A new glitch, however, has allowed players to put a suppressor on a rocket launcher.

The issues first happened on all platforms during missions 29 and 42 when Quiet accompanies the player that eventually is corrupting the player's save file, notes VG47. While PS4 and PC versions are fixed, Xbox One players will have to wait a little longer.

"We're happy to report that a fix for the Quiet/save data issue has now been implemented for PS4. The same fix for other platforms are coming," says the official Twitter of Metal Gear.

Xbox One gamers are still experiencing serious issues that left the game basically unplayable, reports Tech Times. Dozens of reports are coming including the stuttering, frame rate issues, and uncontrollable character such as a prevalent issue where gamers can no longer control Snake's action. Instead of hiding into the shadows, he goes directly into a searchlight. During the intensive loading of graphics, reports said that the game starts stuttering, the control input locks up, and the audio drops.

"While playing MGS5 The Phantom Pain on Xbox One the controls go nuts! You lose control and snake just keep moving and the audio cuts out," a frustrated player expressed on Reddit. A new glitch, however, brings good news to gamers, where it allows players to customize weapons beyond the original options.

According to PC Gamer, YouTuber jasonLJ posted a video showing how he was able to add a 100-round belt and suppressor to a rocket launcher where he can fire silent rockets without immediately alerting the enemy guards. Players can choose restricted weapon modules when they use LMB rather than the spacebar or enter key on their PC. As a result, it adds suppressors to rocket launchers.

At the time of writing, there is no statement for the release date of the patch for Xbox One. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain was released on September 1, 2015 for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC/Steam.
