Empire returns with more fashion, sex, intrigue, fights and bloodshed in its season 2. Co-creator Lee Daniels of this music-industry melodrama announces its come back on Fox on September 23 after the last season's great ratings.
The Wrap writes how grand was the announcement of the new season as the Empire's casts, creators and co-creators walked on the gold carpet last Saturday night before Fox screened the first episode of "Empire" Season 2 in New York's Carnegie Hall. Though not all are in the premiere of the show, Alicia Keys, Kelly Rowland, Ludacris, Lenny Kravitz, Chris Rock, Pitbull, Ne-Yo and even Mariah Carey are expected to have their appearances in the next season.
Aside from the anticipated appearances of the said music icons, new characters add flavor to this melodrama series. The fierce sister of Cookie Lyon enters the "Empire" as it is being portrayed by Vivica A. Fox. Aside from reuniting with her sister, Cookie finds for herself a new man.. the man of her dreams while her husband Lucious is in jail. The actor to take this role however is yet to be known. Unlike his mother, Jamal finds himself a stalker portrayed by Adam Busch according to Unreality TV.
But no matter how many new characters enter the scenes in "Empire", the rivalry among the three sons of of Lucious and Cookie remains as main plot line in the next season. Andre works underground to take hold of Empire even to the extent of having his father removed as CEO since he is in prison. Lucious, clever enough, left Jamal instructions to take over. Hakeem continues to rebel to get Empire for himself alone since his mother backs up Andre while his father supports Jamal.
Co-creator of "Empire" Lee Daniels, according to Vanity Fair, tells that they are going to explore the idea on what happens to a person when he or she becomes successful financially and what it does to his or her head space. Lee asserts that the person remains the same like Lucious and Cookie and that is what they are exploring this year.
Empire impacts its audience big time with explosive plot and production last season and it assures more in the second season. In response to the huge demand for its return, Empire hosts more guests, creates more diverse plot lines and prepares even bigger production. Empire returns on Fox Wednesday next week.
