Sid, Manny, and the rest of the gang are set for another adventure while striving to survive the Earth's Ice Age in the upcoming film. Ice Age 5 is believed to be the final installment in the successful franchise which started in 2002.

Originally set to hit theaters in July 15, 2016, the film's release is recently pushed back for a week. According to International Business Times, the reschedule of release was in order to avoid having to directly compete with Sony' much-awaited Ghostbusters Reboot as well the films La La Land, and The Lake.

Screenrant reported that the film will now be up against Guy Ritchie's big screen take on the story of King Arthur. The trade also reported that the upcoming film will have the younger and family audiences all to themselves as both the Ghostbusters reboot and King Arthur are more geared towards the older market.

Plot for the upcoming film are currently under wraps, however, according to Latinos Post, voice actors from the previous films are expected to reprise their roles. John Leguizamo is exprected to return to reprise his role as Sid, Ray Romano as Manfred, Denis Leary as Diego, Queen Latifa as Ellie, Sean William Scott as Crash, Chris Wedge as Scrat, and Josh Peck as Eddie.

Although the film will probably have a much younger audience compared to when the first film hit the theaters in 2002, the film is still likely to get good reception from fans as proven in the box office earnings of the previous films. According to The Numbers, the franchise grossed a total of $2.7 billion worldwide from the previous 4 films.

Ice Age: Collision Course is set to be directed by Mike Thurmeier with co-director Galen T. Chu. It is set to hit theaters in July 22, 2016.
