The Season 11 premiere of "Bones" will start off with Booth (David Boreanaz) mysteriously missing. A new character will be introduced in the show as a FBI agent who will lead the search that will make her clash with Brennan (Emily Deschanel).
In Season 10, Brennan and Booth quit their jobs as forensic anthropologist and FBI agent respectively. Brennan was pregnant and both were looking forward to leading a dream life free from the crimes and murders that they regularly deal with.
"Bones" Season 11 will pick up six months after last season's finale. TVLine reports that the couple will be seen enjoying life and preparing for their coming baby boy. EP Michael Peterson said that viewers will get to see how the couple will be as parents but will not be veering from the original theme of the show. "We're trying to find the perfect balance, where we show the kids and [establish that] Booth and Brennan are great parents [without] making it solely about the children," said Peterson.
According to IB Times, the baby might be named after Booth's former partner Lance Sweets whose death in the Season 10 premiere affected Booth profoundly.
The seemingly idyllic life of the couple will be shaken when Booth will mysteriously go missing. Kim Raver has been signed on to play the role of Agent Grace Miller who will lead the investigation to find him along with FBI Agent James Aubrey (John Boyd). TV Guide reports that tensions will rise when Miller treats one member of the team as the primary suspect of the disappearance.
"She doesn't know what Booth has gotten himself into. Has he done something unlawful, or is he the victim? She doesn't know and she doesn't care", says Peterson. Her impartial investigation devoid of any emotion does not make her a fan of Brennan either. Peterson reveals that the two strong-willed and intelligent women will absolutely clash and go head-to-head.
Same report says that the new season will see Agent Aubrey coming to his own as an incredibly good and ambitious agent. He has taken over Booth's office and has done great work in the six months that Booth has gone missing. It sounds like the show is setting up a conflict between Bones and Aubrey in future episodes.
