Oscars 2016 Host: Could It Be Amy Schumer and Amy Poehler? Duo Sparks Academy Awards Hosting Gig

While there are still a couple of months left for the Academy Awards, rumors have been swirling online about who will be Oscars 2016 host. There are several comedians who are lined up for the job, but new reports revealed that Amy Schumer and Amy Poehler may end up getting the roles.

According to E! News, Schumer and Poehler quickly became a favorite pair to host the next year's award-giving body after they presented the 2015 Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy. It is said that the comedians are the best duo to land on the hosting gig since they all have the skills and careers to prove it.

After seeing Schumer and Poehler in the Emmy's, they had become strong contenders as the Oscars 2016 Host. The show will be produced by David Hill, the past Fox executive, together with producer of Django Unchained and a former entertainment president of BET, Reginald Hudlin. According to Academy Awards producer, they've decided that two people will emcee the prestigious awards.

"There will be multiple hosts for sure - there will be two," Hill told EW. "Two is better than one. Just imagine, you're in there. One of your hosts drops dead from cardiac arrest. What do you do? Second host goes on! And you keep going. ... Note to self. Check out their heart rates," Hilll joked.

According to International Business Times, Hill and Hudlin had kept the things under wraps on who will be Oscars 2016 Host. However, there are also a few talks that "30 Rock" actor Tina Fey and Poehler may end up on the hosting gig since they're done with their Golden Globes awards contract.

While it is not sure yet on who will end up as Oscars 2016 Host, other pairs that are also vying for the hosting job are Kermit and Miss Peggy; Amy Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence; Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj; Anna Faris and Chris Pratt; Key and Peele; Donald Trump and Rosie O'Donnell; and Amy Poehler and Joe Biden.
