'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter' Movie Series: Principal Photography starts in South Africa; New cast members coming revealed

After more than a decade in existence, the "Resident Evil" franchise is coming to an end. Recently, Screen Gems has revealed that the sixth installment for the horror film series has launched the principal photography in South Africa.

Variety has reported that the upcoming film will be having a new cast. The additions of Iain Glen as Dr. Alexander Isaacs, Shawn Roberts who will be Albert Wesker, Ruby Rose as Abigail, Eoin Macken as Doc, William Levy to play the role as Christian, Fraser James as Michael, Rola will be Cobalt, and Ali Larter as Claire Redfield to join Milla Jovovich in "Resident Evil: the Final Chapter" under the direction of Paul W.S Anderson.

The film will be the spinoff of the previous film where Project Alice chases time in order to end the wicked Red Queen from its evil agenda. It was reported on Deadline that the production has started in South Africa just this month.

Being the only survivor of the final stand against the undead swarm, Alice needs to get to Raccoon City where the Umbrella Corporation is collecting its forces for the final strike against the only survivor of the catastrophe, according to Superhero Hype.

Running out of time, she will soon join forces with power with old friends, and some strange associates in bloodshed with exanimate legion and new monsters. This will be her most arduous saga as she protects humanity which is on the verge of massive destruction.

Jeremy Bolt, Paul W.S. Anderson, Robert Kulzer and Samuel Hadida will be the producers of "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" alongside Martin Moszkowicz (Constantin Film) and Victor Hadida (Metropolitan Films) as the executive producers.

In addition, Genevieve Hofmeyr (Moonlighting Filmmakers) will be the producers for the production services in South Africa. Glen MacPherson (Director of Photography), Edward Thomas (Production Designer), Reza Levy (Costume Designer), Dennis Berardi (Visual Effects Supervisor), and Doobie White (Editor) belong to the creative production team.

After the long wait, fans will finally witness the ending. Resident Evil: The Final Chapter will be released in the U.S. in January 27, 2017.
