'Jurassic World 2' was announced as soon as 'Jurassic World' had a massively successful opening weekend. With it being the 5th installment of the Jurassic film franchise, the raptors and other dinosaurs will not just be confined in one island, and could be used as weapons.
According to Digital Spy UK, with the dinosaur theme park destroyed, as always, 'Jurassic World 2' is looking to move on from that. Hints from 'Jurassic World' point towards turning the dinosaurs into weapons, and thereby, not limiting their confinement to just an island for recreational purposes that always go awry. Obviously, this idea has a huge potential to go awry too, and could lead to a Jurassic War.
The character Vic Hoskins, played by Vincent D'Onofrio's, has been endeavoring to utilize the raptors as part of the military arsenal. Director Collin Trevorrow seems to support this direction, saying that the raptors wreaking havoc in one island will "get old real fast."
According to Movie Pilot, this open world setting for 'Jurassic World 2' has been foreshadowed by Dr. Henry Wu played by BD Wong had asked theme park owner Irrfan Kahn's Simon Masrani Wu how long he thinks he will be able to control the dinosaurs and their "production." He added ominously in 'Jurassic World' that they "won't always be the only ones who can make a dinosaur." Eventually, this scene was deleted from the final cut of the film.
The "concept of open source" means that any company can breed dinosaurs and will pave the way for purposes other than recreation like "agriculture, medicine, and war." This will also explore the idea of dinosaurs co-existing "without being bound by the theme park."
On the other hand, The Guardian reported that 'Jurassic World 2's' prequel holds the throne for the number of errors it has compared to the films released so far in 2015 as tallied by the Movie Mistakes website. 'Jurassic World' has 19 errors, whether minor or major, which includes "continuity blunders, plot holes and factual mistakes."
'Jurassic World 2' will enjoy an early premiere on June 7, 2018 in the UK and then will be released June 22, 2018 in the US. Chris Pratt, Bryce Howard Dallas will reprise their roles as dinosaur trainer Owen Grady and former park chief Claire Dearing respectively.
