Tom Hiddleston and Jessica Chastain reveal some information about their highly enigmatic characters in 'Crimson Peak' in an online question-and-answer. Along with this, 5 new teasers and a number of movie stills were released, keeping many fans and moviegoers curious and excited about the 'Crimson Peak' horrors.
According to Tom Hiddleston, his character Sir Thomas will talk about his parents if he hypothetically talks to a therapist, while Jessica Chastain's Lady Lucille will be asked about their dad specifically. Were he to describe 'Crimson Peak', he would say it is "a gothic romance", "a love story" and "a ghost story" all in one "where the ghosts are emblems of forbidden love." Clearly, whatever machinations and plot 'Crimson Peak' will have, the core of it will be driven by the Sharpes' mom and dad issues.
Hiddleston and Chastain play the Sharpe siblings who emanate desire and darkness and a relationship akin to fire and ice, according to Chastain. Hiddleston also mentioned how he loves Sir Thomas' "courage" but hated how it "comes too late". On the other hand, Chastain loves Lady Lucille's loyalty but not her dominance. Hiddleston found the script "absolutely terrifying" and on the last day of his filming he felt "exhilaration, sadness and relief."
These bits of information come along with new clips and images from 'Crimson Peak'. According to Collider, the clips don't spoil anything and not even why the Sharpes are still staying in their haunted home and why Sir Thomas' marries Mia Wasikowska's Edith. However, the teasers show a great deal of thrill and mystery "unmatched sense of character design, framing, and lighting."
According to Comic Book, one clip reveal that Hiddleston's Sir Thomas and Chastain's Lady Lucille share a terrible secret that could lead him to being hanged and her detention. elead to her being confined (whether prison or some other asylum is unknown). Another clip also show Wasikowska's Edith being carried into the Sharpes' creepy dilapidated mansion after her marriage with Sir Thomas.
'Crimson Peak' is very mysterious but with the new clips and images revealed recently, the movie does not seem to be short of thrill, horror and depth to its story. The allure of Tom Hiddleston's Sir Thomas and Jessica Chastain's Lady Lucille is in their secrecy-whether events from the past, their emotional damages or their true alliances and motivations. 'Crimson Peak's' secrets will be known on its premiere on October 16.
