After quite a thorough search, "Jack Reacher 2" has finally landed on a villain in oppose with Tom Cruise's character. Paramount & Skydance's upcoming "Jack Reacher" sequel is now ready for development with its new villain on the list.
The Hollywood Reported confirmed that Bravo's Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce star, Patrick Heusinger, is in negotiations with the Paramount studio to be the bad guy in the upcoming sequel franchise.
Heusinger, 34, is best known in Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan and in most of the television series such as The CW's Gossip Girl, NBC's 30 Rock, Fox's Bones, and ABC's Castle. As it turned out, the upcoming movie will be a big break for him.
Under the direction and script of Ed Zwick, the film will also accommodate Cobie Smulders(Avengers: Age Of Ultron), Danika Yarosh (Heroes Reborn), Aldis Hodge(Straight Outta Compton) which will start filming in fall. Danika Yarosh is likely possible to be Jack Reacher's daughter as it was speculated on Screenrush. Reacher is a former military cop of the 110th MP. In addition to the cast and crew, Cruise will co-produce with Don Granger.
"Jack Reacher" has earned a total of $218 million worldwide. The film was based on the Lee Child series of novels. Moreover, Variety reported that the sequel film is inspired by Child's "Never Go Back", the 18th book in the series.
In the story, Jack Reacher (Tom Cruise) will travel to the U.S. Army Military Police Corps located in Virginia from South Dakota. He went on his way to personally meet the new commanding officer, Major Susan Turner, only to find out that she was captured.
It all turned out that he was left with two fragments of appalling news, one with deliberate felonious consequences and, one too intimate to think about.
With the 3x Academy Award-Nominee Tom Cruise, the movie is quite intriguing with Heusinger fighting against him. For now, the movie has limited details but Jack Reacher 2 is slated to hit the big screens on October 21, 2016.
