Ariana Grande says split with Big Sean ‘wasn't that hard’ because they ‘were friends’

Breakups are not easy, but Ariana Grande said she didn't find it hard to move on after her breakup with Big Sean. Being able to happily move on, the songtress shared how their friendship helped her in the process of moving forward.

The singer, who split with the rapper in April following their eight months of being together, told V Magazine that she was able to film "Scream Queens" without any difficulty amid the high-profile breakup. Grande, 22, explained to Ryan Murphy that she had no trouble shooting the TV series and concentrating on her latest album because she has already moved on before the said projects began.

"You know, people found out quite a while after it actually happened. By the time I was writing the new album, I had kind of moved on," the songtress said. "It's not going to be captured on the album too much. I'm in a happy place. There aren't any breakup anthems because I had moved on. I was like, alright. Well, fuck it."

She just continued about life after the split believing that she is good about making the best from something. "It also wasn't that hard for me, because we were friends. So it's chill." Ariana added. Though Grande didn't have a tough time moving on after her relationship with Big Sean, the singer admitted that she doesn't have a good advice about handling failed relationships.

As noted by Latin Post, the singer and the rapper began dating in October 2014 and decided to call it quits about eight months later. The ex-couple confirmed the news through their statements, adding, "They both deeply care for each other and remain close friends."

Meanwhile, Hollywood Life reported that Ariana's new bae is her back-up dancer, Ricky Alvarez. The couple dropped a hint about their relationship when Grande planted a sexy kiss on Alvarez during a concert in June.
