Charlie Hunnam is Great Britain's legendary king in Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur and he revealed his desire to play the character in a way that will make it unforgettable. Meanwhile, David Beckham's who's playing a cameo role in the film said he's all ready for the criticism coming his way.
Several films and pieces have been made during the past years with King Arthur as the main subject, however, as cited in previous report, Hunnam is dedicated to make Guy Ritchie's reimagining of the titular hero an unforgettable one by ditching the bland nice image and making a darker and more courageous version of the king.
In a report by Realty Today, Hunnam also revealed his excitement for the forthcoming film and got nothing but good words for Ritchie, adding that the The Man From U.N.C.L.E. director has always left him in awe. Hunnam will star in the first film of the planned six-part project.
The film will tell the story of the streetwise Arthur who grew up in the streets, and learned about his royalty upon growing up. It also stars Jude Law, Eric Bana, Astrid Berges-Frisbey, Djimon Hounsou, Annabelle Wallis, and David Beckham who will be playing a cameo role in the film.
In a report by The Guardian, Beckham revealed his preparedness for the criticism he will get from portraying his role. Beckham revealed that he has 13 lines in the film and rehearsed his part for an hour every day. Moreover, he also revealed that he's aware that his new chosen career would not be as easy to succeed in.
"I know that it is a tough profession, where you need a huge amount of skill and discipline, and I wouldn't want to push myself forward too soon, without learning more about it, and doing a lot more practice. But what I have done so far, I have loved. I can deal with most things. I am a well-known person, so I have got used to criticism", Beckham said.
Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur is directed by Guy Ritchie from the screenplay written by Joby Harold. It is set to hit theaters in July 22, 2016.
