It seems that there's a light of hope for fans wanting to see "Tron 3" in the big screens. Garrett Hedlund says that the threequel is yet to be dead

Earlier this year, "Tron 3" was revealed to begin production this fall. Although it made the fans of the franchise extremely happy and excited, Disney halted the production. However, as reported by JoBlo, "Tron: Legacy" star Garrett Hedlund says otherwise while promoting the movie "Pan."

"I haven't been told it's totally dead. Ever since we did Legacy, we knew that to have another story follow it up, it had to be concrete and exciting." Hedlund went to say that "Disney needed to have the right story to go forward," and he believes that the studio will "introduce some things that were as exciting as Legacy was and then some, though."

The actor surely did offer a glimmer of hope to those who were disappointed with "Tron 3." And although it doesn't stand as concrete evidence that the third film will indeed be put into reality, chances like this still happen nonetheless.

Meanwhile, Cinema Blend reported that "Tron 3" itself will start its very own trilogy. This speculation has since started when the studio was still working on "Tron: Legacy." However, with the way things were the past few months, the decision whether to continue the third film is at a standstill.

Den of Geek, on the other hand, reported that there's still hope for fans to hold on "Tron 3." If the sequel was thought to be dead and wouldn't be possible after 28 years, it did happen in 2010. The publication believed that it's a shame if the movie will not materialize, as the ending about Olivia Wilde's Quora entering the world would have been a very interesting story thread to follow up on.

If "Tron 3" is indeed yet to be dead, as claimed by Garrett Hedlund, then there's surely a light of hope for fans to see the movie in the big screen - fingers crossed.
