Kong: Skull Island Updated: Tom Hiddleston teases new exciting details; Legendary Pictures, Universal moving the film to Warner Bros?

A crossover of the giant movies is set to happen if Legendary and Universal succeed in moving Kong: Skull Island to Warner Bros. Tom Hiddleston who is set to play as the protagonist of the film revealed that he was blown away by director Jordan Vogt-Roberts' concept and teased on what to expect from the film.

As revealed by The Hollywood Reporter, talks are currently going on between Legendary, Universal, and Warner Bros about moving the film to the latter in order to create a universe that will join King Kong and Godzilla. Both giants are expected to appear in their respective solo films, however, the wait continues as to how the deal will turn out.

Meanwhile, in a report by Games Radar, Tom Hiddleston recently revealed that King Kong movie will be a prequel to previous films. He also added that it will respect the events of the films that were released before. "It's fantastic, very different, a sort of reimagining of the King Kong mythology", he said. "It absolutely tips its hat to all King Kong movies that have gone before, with respect and deference, but it's a new period, a new set of characters."

Hiddleston also said that he was blown away when he found out how the story will go. "Jordan Vogt-Roberts' vision was breathtaking. He came in to Legendary and said, 'What if you did this?' and we were blown away."

Hiddleston revealed that his character will be a soldier who is no longer affiliated with the military, who gets contacted to go to Skull Island for a reason. He added that he will be the main protagonist of the film, and the events will be seen through his eyes. Also as reported by Nerdist, Hiddleston also revealed that the mystery of why the natives of the island created a door as big as King Kong in the wall that is supposed to keep him out, will be answered.

Aside from Hiddleston, Kong: Skull Island will also star Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Corey Hawkins, Toby Kebbell, Jason Mitchell, and John C. Reilly. Jordan Vort-Roberts is set to direct from the screenplay by Max Borenstein, Derek Connolly, John Gatis, and Dan Gilroy. It is slated to hit theaters on March 10, 2017.
