On October 5, TELUS, the Canda's second largest provider will start to roll out the most awaited latest Operating System from Google, Android 6.0 Marshmallow w to the Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 Smartphones.
According to Android Police, Google will launch the new Nexus devices on September 29 which is also the time when its latest Operating System Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be unveiled. The site also says that the Canadian mobile provider Telus appears to begin releasing the OTA updates to the Nexus 5 and 6 on October 5th.
However, the site has stated that it is only a possible start date. It is said that once the rollout begins, it may take weeks, but Google is known for regularly releasing the OTA zip files and factory images in a very fast manner, where a user is able to install the update manually in order to avoid waiting.
The Android Headlines has also stated that TELUS appears to begin the roll out of Android 6.0 Marshmallow to the Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 on October 5. In addition, the site says that the update will be hitting both the Nexus 6 and Nexus 5 on the same day.
Last year, the Nexus 6 was launched on October 15 and made it available to purchase two weeks later, on October 29, to be exact. In mid-November the deliveries have reported begin to arrive, the time when the Lollipop has also begun hitting other Nexus devices, Mobilesyrup wrote.
For This year, Google looks to be having a head start on both the release of its new smartphones, as well as the rollout of its latest version of Android, Marshmallow. It is reported that it is probably because Marshmallow is more of a stability and performance enhancement update, with just a handful of show-stopping features.
Apart from the exciting confirmation that TELUS will begin to roll out the Android Marshmallow update to the Nexus 5 and Nexus 6, another latest report from Nexus would be its latest Nexus 5x and the Nexus 6p devices that are said slated to be unveiled this year having a pre-installed Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
