BlackBerry Venice dubbed as Blackberry Priv? Features exclude curved-side-display, November release seen

In November, the BlackBerry Venice which is the first Android phone from the Canadian company is expected to be unveiled. However, rumor claims that it will be called as Blackberry Priv. instead.

According to Digital Trends, the tech tipster Evan Blass said that the Blackberry Venice Android phone will have a different name. Instead of Blackberry Venice, the well-known tipster has stated that it will be addressed as the BlackBerry Priv.

Lately, the renders of the Android-powered BlackBerry Venice have circulated online. Today, another leak in a form of video said to unveil the device's key configuration details, reports International Business Times.

Based on the leaked video, BlackBerry Venice will not sport a curved-side-display which indicates to contradict its recent rumors. In addition, a physical QWERTY keyboard on the BlackBerry Venice that appears the same with the BlackBerry Passport was spotted on the new video, too. The QWERTY keyboard will apparently arrive with a "double tap to wake" feature.

Through sliding the keyboard out of the device, three choices will be offered to the BlackBerry Venice users such as the BlackBerry Hub, Google services with preference to do a universal search that will aid in searching through the contents in the handset, and also the Web.

As for more of its specifications, NDTV Gadgets reports that the preliminary leaks and rumors of the Venice slider smartphone indicated that it will come in 5.4-inch QHD (1440x2560 pixels) display, along with a 1.8GHz hexa-core 64-bit Snapdragon 808 SoC.

It will also include a 3GB of RAM and will sport an 18-megapixel back shooter, and a 5-megapixel on the front. It's new video also revealed that it will be working on an Android Lollipop version of the BlackBerry Passport Silver Edition.

Up to this point, the Company has not yet provided any information about the Blackberry Venice pricing details. However, it is highly expected to be unveiled in November and looks to be making its way to all main carriers in the U.S.
