Last weekend, "The Intern" was screened in London. The Warner Bros' movie franchise was the top choice for the audiences who prefer a comedy over animated sequels or Adam Sandler wagon.
Forbes noted that "The Intern" is the third-biggest debut having a total of $18.225 million behind the $22 million debut of It's Complicated (2009) and the $33 million debut of What Women by Mel Gibson in 2000. In addition, it was the prime movie for the matured audiences.
Moreover, director Nancy Meyers' film is in the second place behind the "Hotel Transylvania 2" from 3,305 theaters. The Hollywood Reporter indicated that the film was designed for the older adults who are likely to deliver a lengthy run than rushing out on opening weekend. 62 % of the females in North America skewed while 55% of the audiences were 50-years-old and over earning an A-Cinema Score.
Anne Hathaway who portrays a working mother struggling for her career and her personal life has asked for more support for working mothers. According to an article on the Evening Standard, Hathaway addressed the society to understand and support one another especially the women who are working for their family.
"I think we need to start thinking about what 'all' is, for ourselves as individuals, and I think we need to all collectively, men and women, transform society so that there is better understanding and support, particularly in this case for women in the workplace," she said.
Moreover, Meyers assured that women can "juggle career with motherhood." She reiterated that the movie implies the message that it is unlikely easy to juggle both for everybody, the mothers and fathers alike.
