Transformers 5 is currently in the works, and while official details about the upcoming film are kept under wraps, voice actor Mark Ryan revealed details on the possible plot for the film. Michael Bay also revealed that negotiations for the film are currently under way.
The previous installments in the Transformers franchise have proven to be huge box office hits which is also one of the reasons why a fifth film is no longer surprising. While it has not been confirmed yet, We Got This Covered reported that Mark Ryan might have an idea on the possible plot for the movie.
According to the trade, Optimus Prime could succeed in finding their creators and this search will reportedly introduce the Quintessons, the group of ancient being who created the Autobots and the Decepticons.
Aside from that, Optimus Prime could also come face to face with one of the greatest villains in the Transformers universe, Unicron. A report by iSchool Guide reveals that writer Ehren Kruger admitted how she pushed for the inclusion of the great baddie in the film.
"The only thing I do keep talking about that seems too big until we find the right stories for it -- or the way to make it make sense -- is the Unicron character from the mythology, who is a planet-size Transformer", Kruger said. "It's not that it's too big, just that it'll be onscreen whenever we figure out how to make it visually interesting and amazing", Kruger added.
Aside from Optimus Prime, no other characters have been confirmed yet, and director Michael Bay has not been confirmed yet either. However, according to a report by International Business Times, Bay revealed that talks are currently on going. "Re: directing TF5. No, it's not official. I have not committed to any idea as of yet. Just met with Steven and we are discussing.", the director revealed in his Twitter account.
Transformers 5 is set to be produced by Akiva Goldsman and Don Murphy, while Michael Bay, Tom DeSato, and Steven Spielberg are expected to be the executive producer. No release date has been slated for the film but more details are expected to be revealed as production makes progress.
