Ray Donovan Season 4 Spoilers: Showrunner David Hollander dishes out plans after renewal announcement

By

Ray Donovan's Season 3 finale packed a lot of action and drama that paved the road for new beginnings for its beleaguered characters in the previously announced Season 4.

Terry was seriously wounded and his life was left on the balance after the Minassians put a hit on Mickey but got him instead. That forced Ray to seek redemption and solace from Father Romero in an emotionally charged scene.

Writer and showrunner David Hollander in a Yahoo TV interview teases fans on updates of Season 4. Mickey was last seen in the season finale headed for Las Vegas. Hollander reveals that he will not be disappearing from "Ray Donovan" and in fact he has many plans for Mickey next season.

It isn't the end for the Minassians neither as they are always considered a threat. After all, according to Hollander, they are a pretty serious group with serious tentacles. However, he is not interested in taking them to the forefront of another season as of now. Another character taking a backseat is Paige whose family certainly will not be a centerpiece of Season 4.

Terry and Abby may have kissed and did some flirting in Season 3 but Hollander reveals to TV Line that their relationship was never meant to be a love story but was about a very deep friendship. In the upcoming season, the flirting stops but the friendship remains.

Season 4 will see the show's main protagonist facing his own past and this desire to go deeper into his past will lead him to a new form of relationship that will open up his life in yet another big city, reports Hollywood Reporter.

All in all, Ray Donovan Season 4 will bring in new situations, a new family dynamic that will impact each member of the Donovan family and will include Mickey once again. Hollander added, "We're really excited about where we're going in season four, it's going to be an emotional, but big and loud and brassy and visually fun year. With Los Angeles and another city becoming enforcer frames at the same time."

Hollander did not say which city he is referring to but says it will be one with the same kind of audacity that Los Angeles has. He further states that LA will always be the show's home and the other place will seem almost like an offshoot of Los Angeles.
