The fifth season of "Homeland" will premiere next Sunday on Showtime. To whet the fandom’s appetite, the cable network released a new trailer on Monday, giving away some of the new season’s intense happenings viewers are yet to experience.
Dissecting the 30-second clip released via Indiewire, it appears that Claire Danes’ Matheson will get entangled in a bigger web of political conflicts as she navigates the fifth season working at a private security firm in Germany. The action packed footage also gives followers of the espionage hit a taste of violence that will be stretched out in the new bunch of episodes. “The above trailer hints at the action to unfold in Season 5, including kidnapping, protest and murder,” the publication wrote.
One of the highlights of the trailer is the ending statement of Carrie asking, “Who’s after me?” – an obvious hint that season five will introduce a slew of dramatic plot points for the struggling spy this fall.
Apart from the compelling clip, Showtime also unveiled a gallery of the premiere titled “Separation Anxiety”. While it is uncertain if the title relates to Carrie or her daughter, the procured images allow that the latest run still lingers on Homeland’s inherent tone of political darkness. This is largely evident on a still featuring Quinn with a bleeding hostage by his side.
New faces will also board the "Homeland" ship this season. Design and Trend reported the upcoming characters who will recur on a daily basis in season five. “Among those are "Schindler's List's" Mark Ivanir and Micah Hauptman from "Masters Of Sex." Both cast members will be joined by "Lord Of The Rings" actress Miranda Otto to help Saul run his CIA operation out of Berlin,” the site shared.
Showtime has released a 30-second trailer of "Homeland" season five to give fans a closer look to the action-packed events that will be uncorked beginning Sunday, Oct. 4th. Now, the fans are already thrilled for the return of the series in the small screens.
