'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter' finally released an official plot synopsis. It revealed that much of the film's new plot will focus on betrayal and Alice's return to Raccoon City. Stars Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter, who play Alice and Claire Redfield respectively, pose in a new behind-the-scenes set image shared.
Loyal fans and waiting audiences have finally been given a hint of what to expect for the sixth and concluding installment in the science-fiction and horror series based on the popular Capcom video games. The official plot synopsis posted by IGN revealed that Alice will journey back to Raccoon City where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering strength for an attack against humanity and will join forces with old comrades. It was also written that she may find herself in the most difficult battle especially since she loses her superhuman abilities.
Another article from Cinema Blend posted one of the most recent photos shared from the set of 'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter' showing stars MIlla Jovovich and Ali Larter in full makeup and costume. Jovovich, who plays the main protagonist Alice, shared the "selfie" with her co-star on her personal social media account. The post was captioned, "These badass ladies be back! On set with @therealalil. #aliceandclaire #residentevilmovie#capetowndiary"
The cast members are known for updating fans and actively promoting their film on social media. According to Collider, ever since writer-director Paul W.S. Anderson began principal photography, his wife Jovovich as well as other actors on-set dropped sneak peaks on their personal social media accounts. Larter, William Levy and Eoin Macken each did their teasing on Instagram.
'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter' is set to be released on January 27, 2017. It serves as the sixth installment of the popular 'Resident Evil' film series that earned a combined $915 million in the box office. Filming has begun in South Africa.
