New survey suggests a strong following for the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 after it topped the chart for the most anticipated film coming this Fall season. New photos and video were also released as it nears its theater release.
As reported by Comicbook, a survey conducted by Piedmont Media Research of 3,000 respodents listed the forthcoming film as the most anticipated film among the fall movies. Piedmont rates the films on a scale of 0 to 1000 wherein the film scored 514 points which is the best score earned by a film ever since the company started. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 replaced Avengers: Age of Ultron in the first place and it is followed by Star Wars: The Force Awakens which scored 495.
Aside from that, a new video was also released for the film entitled "For Prim" and features the most iconic scenes involving Katniss and Prim in the previous installments of the franchise. According to Movie Pilot, it serves as a reminder that all the events started when Prim was selected to play as their district's tribute in the 74th Hunger Games where Katniss decided to take her place instead by volunteering. But also, the video could serve as a rather dim reminder for those who are knowledgeable of the book series' ending.
As reported by Hypeable, new photos were also released for the film showing some of the most iconic characters of the series. The photos show stills of some of the toughest women in the franchise namely, Gwendoline Christie's Commander Lyme, Natalie Dormer's Cressida, Patina Miller's Commander Paylor, and of course Jennifer Lawrence's Katniss Everdeen. Josh Hutcherson's Peeta, Jeffrey Wright's Beetee, and Elden Henson's Pollux were also revealed.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 will conclude the successful franchise, and will focus on Katniss and her allies as the fight for Panem to take down President Snow who has been increasingly obsessed to destroy her. It is directed by Francis Lawrence and is expected to hit theaters worldwide in November 20.
