'The Huntsman' actress Jessica Chastain talked about working with her co-actor Chris Hemsworth on the upcoming action-adventure fantasy film. She joked about how Hemsworth needed to work out more and how much of a "Greek God" he was. Emily Blunt, who plays one of the antagonists Freya, also expressed her enthusiasm over her villainous role.
According to The Global Dispatch, Chastain shared some praise for Hemsworth while promoting her latest science-fiction film 'The Martian' at the Toronto Film Festival. She joked that Hollywood is a competitive industry unless one is considered "blessed". She said her co-star may need to work out more and was better looking somehow all in jest.
She added, "It's disgusting, really... I'm in this movie and I'm in all these scenes with him and he's so tall and I'm like, 'Really?! I have to share a frame with you?' He's a Greek God. It's crazy." Chastain admitted that shooting scenes with the 32-year old heartthrob was the most fun she has had and there was always laughter on set.
Chastain also revealed in another interview that she preferred to do challenging roles instead of just playing a lead character, according to The Straits Times. She plays Lady Lucille Sharpe in Guillermo del Toro's upcoming gothic romance film 'Crimson Peak' and apparently stunned the director when she rejected the offer to play the main protagonist Edith Cushing. The multi-award winning actress openly identifies as a feminist and admitted her disappointment at Hollywood's lack of female protagonists.
One of the film industry's most coveted stars, Emily Blunt, is also involved in 'The Huntsman' as the ice queen Freya. During an interview with NZ Herald, Blunt expressed her excitement over her new role as a villain. She was most enthusiastic about the "insane" and "beautiful" costumes her character had to be dressed up in saying, "And because I'm wearing these incredibly expensive dresses I have five people waiting on me, asking, 'Do you need a chair? Let's put a coat on you. Let's cover the dress.' "
The English actress has been the recipient of numerous accolades including a Golden Globe Award for her work in 2007's 'Gideon's Daughter'. She has also appeared in several critically-acclaimed films including 'Sicario', 'Into the Wild', 'Edge of Tomorrow', 'Salmon Fishing in the Yemen', and 'The Great Buck Howard'.
'The Hunstman' is an upcoming dark fantasy action-adventure film directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan. It is scheduled to be released on April 22, 2016. The film intended as a prequel and a spin-off to Rupert Sanders' 'Snow White and the Huntsman' that was based on the Grimm Brothers' German fairytale.
