One of the biggest announcements of Google at its recently held press event was the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The latest Android operating system is expected to start rolling out next week.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow is packed with a lot of new features that will give handsets better system performance. These features are as follows:
Google Now on Tap
The standout feature of Android 6.0 Marshmallow is the Google Now on Tap. It takes Google Now application to crawl through the user's applications and get extra information on basically anything immediately. Simply hold the home button in any application and Google Now will analyze it instantly. Additionally, it is a remarkable feature as it pushes Google Now even further ahead of the competition.
Doze
Doze is a new feature in Android 6.0 Marshmallow that monitors how the user's device is being used and regulates application activity accordingly. If the device is sitting idle all day, Marshmallow pauses the applications so that they do not drain through the battery.
Cut, Copy, and Paste
An additional meaningful change in Marshmallow is the way it handles copy and pasting text. Instead of making the user jump up to the top of the screen to find and decode the cut, copy, and paste buttons, Android 6.0 Marshmallow floats the options directly above the text selected.
New App Permission Structure
In Marshmallow, the user can now choose which permissions each application gets. Developers are able to ask for permissions on a case-by-case basis.
USB Type-C
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow adds support to USB Type-C, also known as USB-C, for Android devices. It is a tiny reversible USB format that is now across the board of tech industry.
Application Backup and Restoration
If an Android 6.0 device is idle and connected to WiFi, then it will automatically backup application settings and data to Google Drive behind the scenes.
Though Google has not set an official date of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow rollout, a number of reports have pointed out that it will be on October 5. This new software has key refinements across the operating system that addresses age-old problems. On the whole, it is a sleeker, more useable, and smarter Android update.
