Dota 2 MOBA Patch 6.85 Released by Valve Adds Massive Gameplay Update Prior to Frankfurt Major Tournament Next Month

Valve Corporation has released Patch 6.85 for Dota 2 Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) bringing massive changes on the gameplay. The update comes less than two months ahead of the Major Tournament that will be held in Frankfurt, Germany this November.

Dota 2 Patch 6.85 is a major gameplay update that comes with hefty changes and to cite a few, Siege Creeps will now behave like normal lane creeps for spell targeting rules with now having an 80% spell resistance. Omniknight's purification cast point is now reduced from 0.4 to 0.25 and this hero's degen aura stickiness is reduced from 2 to 1.

More on Dota 2 news, Valve has announced the first Dota 2 Major tournament happening at the Festhalle Masse in Frankfurt, Germany from Nov. 16 to 21 where 16 teams will be competing for a share of the $3,000,000 prize pool.

Attendance to the Frankfurt Major will be open to everyone except on November 21 which is the day for the finals. Below is the schedule that players should take note, players can access the complete details at the Dota 2 official blog.

October 5 - teams who will join the Frankfurt Major and its Regional Qualifiers will be announced

October 6 - 9 - Open Qualifiers, hosted by FaceIt and Perfect World

October 10 - 13 - Regional Qualifiers

Nov. 16 to 21 - Dota 2 Frankfurt Major tournament

The Dota 2 Majors were announced in April that will consist of three new annual events that will lead to the regular International Championships in the summer, notes IGN, adding that Dota 2 is the first game of Valve that switched over to the Source 2 engine.

Valve's The Source 2 engine used for Dota 2 does beyond improving the game's graphics but it also improves the gameplay by reducing the latency between issuing a command and seeing the player's hero react to a command.
