The second season of "The Flash" will reportedly see Barry Allen, played by Grant Gustin, discovering new aspects of his powers. It was also reported that actress Vanessa Williams has been casted to be part of the upcoming episodes of the series.
According to Comic Book, The Flash will be showing off a new superpower in the second episode of season 2, which is entitled "The Flash of Two Worlds." This is the same episode where Jay Garrick, played by Teddy Sears, from Earth-2 will be dropping by S.T.A.R. Labs in order to warn Barry and the gang regarding the impending danger.
Speculations have surfaced that because Garrick will be introducing Barry and the others to the worlds, he could also be the one to tell The Flash that he has more superpowers than he knows of. Gustin recently shared in an interview, "In the second episode, Barry... discovers a new aspect of his powers -- involving lightning. And it is very, very cool. I'm excited about it!"
It has also been reported that a new face will be seen in "The Flash" season 2 as it was confirmed by Variety that "Candyman" and "Melrose Place" actress Vanessa Williams has been casted as the mother of Iris West and the wife of Joe West. It remains unknown though in which part of the second season she will be popping up.
Season 2 is expected to explore the West family as Keiynan Lonsdale was casted to play the role of Wally West. Wally is the nephew of Iris and the sidekick of Barry Allen.
Meanwhile, it remains unknown who really saved Central City in the season 1 finale of "The Flash." According to Cinema Blend, it is possible that Barry Allen did not save the area as it is believed that Eddie was the one responsible for saving everyone. The season 2 premiere is entitled "The Man Who Saved Central City" so fans will know more about this in a few days' time.
"The Flash" season 2 will see Barry Allen having new superpowers and meeting Jay Garrick, the other speedster from Earth 2. Vanessa Williams has been casted as the mother of Iris West and the wife of Joe West but details about her role are still under wraps. The CW series premieres next Tuesday at 8 P.M.
