Caitlyn Jenner was previously facing the possibility of going to jail due to a crash she was involved in earlier this year. However, after recently attending a court hearing, the 65-year-old was discharged from the case and no further action will be taken against the celebrity.
According to TV Guide, Caitlyn Jenner will not be prosecuted with vehicular manslaughter after being involved in a four-car accident last February 7, 2015. The court hearing, which took place at the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office, declared last Wednesday, September 30th that Jenner was not speeding at the time of the accident when her SUV rear-ended the victim's car.
In another report from CNN, Kimberly Howe, 69, died on the scene after Jenner collided with the car and two others. According to the report, it was acknowledged that Caitlyn hit the brakes on firmly while trying to avoid the victim's car; unfortunately, the effort was not enough. Despite the death of the 69-year-old, the court said they couldn't prove Jenner's conduct was 'unreasonable.'
USA Today also reported that Blair Berk, Caitlyn Jenner's attorney, strongly believed from the onset that his client wouldn't be prosecuted due to the fact that the celebrity had done everything in her power to refrain the crash from happening.
Berk stated, "We believed from the start that a thorough and objective investigation would clear Caitlyn of any criminal wrongdoing." He then continued with, "We are heartened the district attorney has agreed that even a misdemeanour charge would be inappropriate. A traffic accident, however devastating and heartbreaking when a life is lost, is not necessarily a criminal matter."
With the final verdict being given and the charges dropped, Caitlyn Jenner is now relieved and thankful for the considerate decision from the court. Despite the traumatic experience, the former Olympian has done her part by sending her sympathies and deepest condolences to the family of the victim.
